What made you choose your deck? What does your deck do?

I wanted to play Dragon Rulers because I wanted to showcase how the New Earth Fairies elevate GY strategies. My deck revolves around Chaos Ruler putting Dragons in the GY and from there using the Dragon Rules and the R7 toolbox to out resource the opponent.

What were some tech choices you made? Would you make any changes to the list moving forward?

Techs I added to my deck include Dark Anthelion Dragon as a counter to decks that have monsters with more than 2800 Atk and Mudora/Keldo so I would have more control tools in the main deck that benefit from Chaos Ruler's Mills. Changes I would make would be to cut Justicia and Crocodragon, there is really no need for another non effect tuner and Crocodragon is just not good enough.

How did your tournament experience go? Any notable moments?

The most notable tournament moment for me would be R3 Game 3 Vs Sparky. I had Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon and Sparky was at 100 LP and he scoped thinking FMD worked like Masquerade where you have to pay to activate, instead of it burning you on resolution of card activation. He was very upset with himself.

What hobbies do you have other than Yu-Gi-Oh?

I'm a avid Digimon Tcg player, I grind Splatoon 3 in hopes of Joining Rank X one day, and I'm trying to get into model kit building.

What made you choose your deck? What does your deck do?

I chose to play Fluffal Ishizu because I like gambling and uninteractive decks. The Dark World structure deck came out and Dark World Accession is a really busted card because it can summon Frightfur monsters on either turn, so I wanted to build Fluffal with the new Ishizu cards and Dark World Accession. When the announcement about Dark World being illegal for the YTC came out, I was too lazy to find a new deck and just cut the new card.

This deck uses the Ishizus to mill Toy Vendors and get searches, or mill fusion material. You can discard them with Toy Vendor’s on-field effect or fuse them with a Fluffal to make Garura, Wings of Resonant Life, which make them very easy to trigger. Getting multiple searches in a turn can give you OTK and disruption setups that pretty much win you the game. The deck also didn’t brick much in testing, so I decided to bring it to the YTC.

What were some tech choices you made? Would you make any changes to the list moving forward?

Because of all the mill cards, I added a few cards with GY effects that you wouldn’t normally see in Fluffal like Metalfoes Fusion and Galaxy Cyclone. For engines, I threw in a Predaplant engine because Predaplant Chimerafflesia is cool and it and Predaplant Bufocilia synergize with Edge Imp monsters’ DARK attributes. Milling Predaplanning or Predaplant Byblisp is also nice.

I also cut a few things that would normally appear in Fluffal. There was no Magicians’ Souls engine because milling one of the pieces kills that and taking up a summon is not nice in an OTK deck. I didn’t play search/deck thin cards like Royal Penguins Garden or Upstart Goblin because they clog up my mills. I also moved Sangan to the side deck, since I felt the Tour Guide combo is only good going first and I wanted to go second.

In the future, I would cut Titanocider and replace it with Torrential Tribute, since Fury of Kairyu-Shin can protect some Frightfur monsters and Titanocider was too situational. Torrential Tribute is just better in this deck since it clears the board for attackers and I can see it more often. I would also cut the Metalfoes Fusion. Dark World Accession is now legal so I will definitely add that. I would also add Toy Parade, which I had in my original list, but I submitted the wrong file for the YTC.

How did your tournament experience go? Any notable moments?

Round 1 was 2-0 against countingardens on Predaplant Relinquished. Both Fusion decks, but Relinquished is not as fast as the Fluffals I was playing so it was better for me. I drew pretty nuts in both games, and in game 2 I milled Kelbek off Agido and went like +8.

Round 2 was against Burrito on Fur Hire, but I couldn’t play because of scheduling issues so I conceded. It was kind of a shame; I wanted to play against the list since it looked cool.

Round 3 was 2-1 against Folo on Pendulum. This was a pretty good matchup since I can pop scales and clear lots of bodies pretty easily. Game 1 I OTKed, Game 2 I lost, and Game 3 I misplayed, got into a topdeck war, used Ash on the wrong card, and still won because Folo used Zefra War on the wrong card.

Round 4 was 2-0 against Cinosrepus on Blue-Eyes. That deck puts out some beaters which I could potentially have trouble clearing and not dying to, but I drew really good and had Called By for when I milled his White Stone of Ancients.

The Semifinals was 2-1 against WideWalrus on Ninja. Game 1 I managed to remove all his stuff and keep a Cruel Whale on field, so I won. Game 2 I lost. Game 3 I bricked, but I was able to bring out Predaplant Chimerafflesia. Walrus didn’t Bottomless Trap Hole it because he thought I had another play, so his own Crimson Ninja popped it when I attacked.

Finals was 2-1 against impy on Dragon Ruler. I forgot what happened. I think he bricked once and then I bricked.

What hobbies do you have other than Yu-Gi-Oh?

What made you choose your deck? What does your deck do?

I wasn’t planning on playing Ninjas after Ninjitsu Art Notebook of Mystery was banned, but after using the deck list to test other decks against, I realized that how I had been playing the deck was unoptimized. After testing it extensively, I got a lot better at figuring out the win conditions and understanding which Ninjitsu Art cards to prioritize. One play, for instance, that I hadn’t seen originally was to equip Ninjitsu Art Tool - Iron Digger to an opponent’s monster, banish Baku the Beast Ninja from my GY to destroy the equipped monster, use Iron Digger to add back Baku, and then use Baku’s effect to Special Summon itself and add back the Iron Digger.

This made me feel silly about playing Ghoti last YTC, since Ninja with Notebook of Mystery would have been tier 0 levels of broken, but better late than never.

As for what the deck does, once Ninjas establish their field spell with some Ninja monsters and Ninjitsu Art cards in rotation, it seems more or less unbeatable. It has infinite grind and snowballs dramatically.

What were some tech choices you made?

Playing Rookie Warrior Lady to add back Armed Ninja probably qualifies. The Urgent Schedule for the Karakuri Ninjas in the side deck for going second was also a really cool play. Because you need to play as many Ninja names as you can to ensure that you have fodder for Ninjitsu Art Notebook, you can get away with playing names that might seem bad at a glance.

Would you make any changes to the list moving forward?

I swapped Masked Ninja Ebisu for Tobari the Sky Ninja, since Tobari’s ability to be indestructible would have come up a few times, and Ebisu is niche. Having an additional level 1 is also nice for Ninjitsu Art of Duplication. Other than that, I would make no changes to the main or extra deck.

How did your tournament experience go? Any notable moments?

I went undefeated in swiss and then lost to Fluffals in the semi finals. I felt kind of bad in most of my matches because the deck felt broken and steamrolled so many games.

What made you choose your deck? What does your deck do?

I’ve pretty much been one tricking lab for the past while, the deck was hurt quite a bit last banlist but is still pretty playable and I wanted to see how it would perform.

What were some tech choices you made? Would you make any changes to the list moving forward?

I tried running titanocider as a call for ghoti which I was scared of, mainly because there was no other half point card I wanted and I wanted to play water. The card performed ok but I’ll most likely cut it in future versions.

How did your tournament experience go? Any notable moments?

Pretty average. I misplayed and lost to impy in Swiss , won out and lost to him again in top 4. It is officially 10 tops in a row so, that’s kinda sick.

What hobbies do you have other than Yu-Gi-Oh?

I love chess, and d&d, so yeah, pretty much a nerd.
