What made you choose your deck? What are some plays your deck can make?

I ran w/ this deck because after the last deck I topped with was obliterated by the banlist, I decided to go back to a classic which was Thunder Dragon Metaphys (Metadrags for short). The build I was last on was using Myutants, but without Myutant ST-46, they felt kinda bad, so I scrapped them and instead hyper focused on the rest of the deck, which ended up being the right call.

What were some tech choices you made? Would you make any changes to the list moving forward?

The changes I made ended up making it easier for me to go first or second, since Myutant lines were typically terrible going second since interruption like effect negation and/or on-summon removal would ruin whatever plays I'd attempt to make, so the new build focused in on a few specific turn 1 plays: Chaos Ruler access, Aloof Lupine lines, and Prufinesse lines. Chaos Ruler was the simplest, since any access to Mo Ye + Wyrm/Swordsoul in hand gave me Chaos Ruler, which synergizes perfectly with the Chaos aspect of the deck. I could also get to it via lines using Level 4 Tuners like Metaphys Ragnarok, Ecclesia the Virtuous and Gold Sarcophagus banishing Swordsoul Blackout. Aloof Lupine would give me access to full 2 Metaphys searches by my next turn, Thunder Dragon Fusion in GY, or a field nuke via Metaphys Daedalus on my opponent's SP if I was going second. Prufinesse was probably the best card for going second, since its banish from Deck is for cost, so even if your opponent tries to negate it, its still going to go through, so it would work wonders and lead into either a Metaphys Ascension search, or a Swordsoul Token which would then let me make Ravenous Crocodragon Archethys. Besides that, there were just the other general Chaos lines, like Gold Sarcophagus to give you Thunder Dragon Fusion in GY or whatever Metaphys line you choose depending on the rest of the cards in your hand, Chaos Space + Thunder Dragonroar to go +3 at bare minimum ending on a 3k body, or later in the duel where if you have DDark + Fusion + another Dark monster in the GY, you can get like 11000 damage easy.

The only real outside techs I included were the Synchro lines in the Side Deck, being Hop Ear Squadron, Noble Knight's Shield-Bearer, Black Rose Dragon, Ruddy Rose Dragon, and Bystial Dis Pater. I didn't include these in the Main Deck because honestly, I have better things I can be doing. The Black Rose is a line can only be made with handtrap + Level 4, which feels bad and is usually as a last resort, Hop Ear on opponent's turn requires a niche setup that rarely happens turn 1, and is a complete waste of summons in all the matchups I was worried about. Ruddy Rose Dragon is purely for decks that need the GY to function. Bystial Dis Pater could only be made if I sided in the Bystials, which I will never main since they're completely anti-synergistic with both Metaphys and the combos I talked about before, since unlike Chaos staples like Chaos Valkyria, Black Dragon Collapserpent and White Dragon Wyverbuster, they're not Level 4, which means they don't give any help accessing my Level 8 Synchros. Not only that, but to main them I'd either have to drop better cards, or increase the decksize, which is just as bad since both Metaphys and Thunder Dragons are bricky in this format. The only situation where I'd consider maining them would be to proc Asymmetaphys on my opponent's turn easier, so aside from that, all the Bystial cards will remain in the Side until game 2 so as to answer my opponent's GY removal and/or attack their GY. So no, I wouldn't make any changes.

How did your deck handle the other pilots? Any notable moments?

The deck felt very good into all the opponents I faced, which was helped just because I have experience playing it into loads of matchups and in much more toxic metas, so this felt nice to not be constantly sweating because my opponent went +5 t1 and have an Bethor sitting in hand to pop 5 of my cards t1, or that I might just die cuz Folo decided to Pend summon 5 2400+ ATK monsters after popping all my stuff without using any summons. I'd say the most notable moment was attacking with Metaphys Ragnarok giving me 2 free wins, or using Hop Ear to make Black Rose Dragon vs 6 Set cards (4 backrow 2 monsters).

What is your favorite Pokemon?

Dunsparce. Like, look at it. Its adorable!

Who is your favorite artist and which of their works do you most enjoy?

Hard to choose between Ado, Aimer or LiSA tbh, so I'll just say Swingrowers and pretty much all of their songs.

What made you choose your deck? What are some plays your deck can make?

I picked my deck because I wanted to take full advantage of Girsu before everybody is reminded of why we hit Girsu in the First Place. The main goal of my deck is to take full advantage of the bodies Girsu can make to turbo out Link Monsters like Rusty Bardiche or Orcustrion, and use the revival traps that double as protection Phantom Knights' provide to be able to use I:P to make very powerful link monsters such as Underworld Goddess

What were some tech choices you made? Would you make any changes to the list moving forward?

Tech Choices include Mind Control as a going 2nd tool that lets me break boards with ease and converting the monsters into more powerful Link Monsters. Another Tech choice I decided to play is Topologic Trisbaena as a way to out Backrow decks by field wiping, but it's very hard to pull off. Wouldn't make any changes to the list moving forward besides updating it with "Sky Striker Ace - Azalea" as a in theme Link 2 I can make under the Crescendo Lock

How did your deck handle the other pilots? Any notable moments?

Overall Piloting Orcust felt very rewarding vs my opponents. The main thing Orcust has over most other decks is how long it can grind with the link monsters that can recycle while PK lets me more effectively take apart the opponent's field. The hardest Pilot for me to face would be the winner Nitrogue because their deck is an Aggro deck that puts my deck on a clock. I'm so used to every other deck trying to grind with my Orcust list, so vs their Thundra list threw me off in Swiss.

What is your favorite Pokemon?

My favorite Pokemon is Linoone because it was my first shiny I encountered on my first playthrough of Pokemon emerald. It's shiny colors matched my dog so I named it after her and grew an appreciation for it being my HM slave on top of it's ability giving me free items.

Who is your favorite artist and which of their works do you most enjoy?

Sawao Yamanaka from the band "The Pillows" is my favorite artist because his singing to me is so raw and full of life, to the point it transcends language and anybody can understand the emotions being conveyed through the music. This might not count since it's from the band "The Pillows", but their work I most enjoy (for now, it changes like every month when it comes to Sawao/The Pillows) is The Pillows - Good Dreams 2004, Track 10 - Good Dreams.

What made you choose your deck? What are some plays your deck can make?

Ancient warrior is a pretty neat deck with sun mou going down to a half point helping my choice of saying “maybe this deck can do something now” So with Sun mou at half i can run a smaller deck size and find sun mou faster with small world as well.

What were some tech choices you made? Would you make any changes to the list moving forward?

I dont really have much tech besides the small world being able to search any of the non-dark ancient warriors with tg warwolf as a bridge(kinda of funny since we are getting the new tg stuff) but the only thing i would change is maybe change some of the trinities to add another tenki.

How did your deck handle the other pilots? Any notable moments?

As i found out during some of these duels, apparently some decks have a hard time outplaying some of the locks ancient warriors have.

What is your favorite Pokemon?

Well this is a difficult one to answer because i have so many but i’ll give you 3, my 3 are Craindos, Quagsire, and Clodsire.

Who is your favorite artist and which of their works do you most enjoy?

What made you choose your deck? What are some plays your deck can make?

I was going to play a well built and well thought out deck but, then I woke up at 2 am the morning before the YTC started and added a bunch of trash and jank to a list. The coolest play my deck does is Dreaming Nemleria to place Dream Tower onto the field, Dream Tower to search both Nemleria Level 10s that summon themselves for free and Dream Tower protects them from battle and destruction from card effects.

What were some tech choices you made? Would you make any changes to the list moving forward?

I played Dangers! which worked well with the labyrth that discards. I main deck-ed Gizmek Uka because a lot of decks special summon from deck and he lets you punish people for that. The deck is made up of a bunch of engines but, since I did not test beforehand, the coheision isn't there. Thus I would scrap pretty much the whole deck since as it is, it is garbage.

How did your deck handle the other pilots? Any notable moments?

My only losses were to Impy. I have a decent amount of good cards versus Impy in my deck but, due to bad construction of my deck, I don't see the good cards enough. Semi-finals againist Impy, my hands were garbage and just insta-lost versus them. Round 3 versus Nobody, the deck popped off with some god hands. I think it was the quickest I ever won a YTC match.

What is your favorite Pokemon?

My favorite Pokemon is Flygon. Awesome typing, looks dope and was a savage in the movie "Jirachi: Wish Maker".

Who is your favorite artist and which of their works do you most enjoy?

My favorite artist is Seb Mckinnon. He does art for magic cards and his style is unique and breathtaking. The first magic set I played was Guilds of Ravnica where he did amazing art for cards like Growth Spiral and Bedevil which instantly caught my attention.
