What made you choose your deck? What are some plays your deck can make?

I have been playing Trooper in the TCG for a very long time, over a year actually since its release. I've since moved on because I feel the deck cant take me any farther but it is still something I cherish with how much I've accomplished with it in my own way (cant attend YCSs and the like as I live in Asia). Now as for playing Trinity with the deck; what I went for was more a control shell with Cicada King, Normal Summon a Scout Buggy pass on a Cicada King either have some backrow to back it up or a Block Spider or Antlion in hand to protect it, then turn 3 you assemble all of the monsters you got off Cicada on your opponents turn to make an Atlas to then grind your opponent to dust. Besides the Cicada plan you'll want to open Resonance, Retaliating or Pole to start cycling through resources as they can search on infinitum, especially Retaliating grabbing Antlion then Antlion equipping the same Reta and grabbing another Antlion, absolutely insane resource engine that can plow through anything. Deck also has the combination of Sting Lancer, Picofaelena and Mighty Neptune to infinitely recycle back all of your resources to keep repeating the flow of advantage, if Atlas doesn't just wall your opponent out of the game already.

What were some tech choices you made? Would you make any changes to the list moving forward?

The only really big "techs" I would say I had in this was Block Spider, Bug Emergency and the half-pointed Myrmeleo, Block Spider being able to set up a Dupe Lock when Special Summoned and acting as more material to quickly go into Atlas, absolutely stellar card, not many decks are actually prepared for it and made quick work of them. Myrmeleo just pops backrow really that you can set up with a Papillion, still very strong of course but didn't come up the most often thanks to Antlion. Bug Emergency's main target would be two Buggy's left over in the grave, but throughout my games I found more often than not I could get back a Gokipole which was really just quite good, nice addition to the deck I would say Emergency is. The deck itself is rather straightforward in terms to build anyway: Play the best Insects, hope you don't brick on the larger 1s and draw Resonance, Buggy, Pole or Retaliating. As for changes, I really just do not know why Knightmare Phoenix is not in my ED, I took it out to fit in Berserker I believe, which never came up, and I regret it immensely, backrow removal always important. Another thing I regret is definitely only having 1 Tour Guide target, came up at least twice and almost bit me, definitely should add a Sangan or the full package with Scarm since I intend to make Cicada with it and it is a strong detach. Other than that pretty satisfied with it.

How did your deck handle the other pilots? Any notable moments?

Round 1 was agaisnt War Rock Subterror which could not keep up cards against me and got slobberknocked. The most notable part about it is me midway in learning that Antlion triggers in Damage Step, which didn't matter then but I kept in mind for the rest of the tourney. Round 2 was against Folo on the only deck he ever plays. Was a pretty good back and forth, but I had enough backrow removal to keep outpacing and win out. Round 3 was against Plant Pile leaning Rikka. Game 1 he did open the Petal but I had a good amount of answers for it and kept the cards in his hand stuck there until I could establish enough to make a big push. Game 2 was interesting as he didn't open much engine and was stuck on backrow, which did not win out against what I had and I outpaced him once more. Round 4 was undefeated vs undefeated, and I unfortunately was defeated as I more or less just bricked twice going second into Spright not bricking. Now top cut was interesting as I faced last YTC's format menace Empty Jar. Game 1 I was able to control cards flipping as Antlion triggers before they flip up so it could pop them before they had the chance to. Game 2 they have Junk Sleep and World Legacy Pawns, nothing I could really do they had too much advantage rolling. Game 3 was an absolute grind, me doing the same thing of attempting to control flips and while my opponent managed to get quite a lot of value online with multiple jars flipping, Trooper's engine is actually just quite suited to beating Jar as it as able to put back most of it's cards and by the end of it still had 10 cards left in deck, most of them put back there from grave or banish. Finals was a rematch against Spright that is easily summed up to I Didn't Brick And My Opponent Did, still good games had a lot of fun.

Do you own real Yu-Gi-Oh cards? If yes, what does your collection/deck look like?

Now I live in Asia so I do not own many cards since any scene I could go to would be OCG, nor do I believe I have a scene but haven't really looked anyway. The cards I do own though is a pile of cards from a couple packs of Hidden Summoners which I got from an animecon, wish I kept 1 of those packs though but alas. These packs actually sparked my interested in the game where I started in Duel Links, played for a year straight, accidentally lost all my data and never looked back, getting a PC in September 2020 which got me fully into the game. Eventually I was able to purchase a full Trooper core from somebody... unfortunately I had got it before the tin reprints made Scout Buggy a common so that still haunts my conscious, yet I am still absolutely grateful being able to own and occasionally play my favorite deck.

What is your favorite book?

To be frank I don't really read much, but my favorite book would be something I cannot mention as it as VERY NSFW. Otherwise I'm currently reading through Wuthering Heights.

What made you choose your deck? What are some plays your deck can make?

I chose my Deck because ever since I played Spright w/ Fur Hire, I’ve been having a lot of fun and success with other Spright variants, so I chose to run with my favorite variant: Krawler Melffy Spright. The deck is very flexible, offering lines for going 1st or 2nd, offensive or defensive, fragile or versatile. The basic lines were any 2-summon into Melffy of the Forest or Gigantic Spright, to get access to Melffy Catty, Melffy Puppy, or Spright Jet, for interruption on the opponent’s turn, while using Krawlers for slower, more defensive options that don’t lose to typical monster wipes like Lightning Vortex, which are the counter to Spright decks.

What were some tech choices you made? Would you make any changes to the list moving forward?

The main techs I included were the Krawler investment, which of course included some World Legacy cards. These additions gave me the option to play slower if my opponent went first and opened up with a line that gave them interruption, or they set a number of backrow that I didn’t want to blindly play into. Overall, I wouldn’t change anything about the deck. For the style I was going for, it felt nearly perfect, with the only limiting factor being pilot skill. Altho if any hits occur to Spright, might look into investing moreso in Krawler, but we’ll see how that develops.

How did your deck handle the other pilots? Any notable moments?

The deck felt amazing into the other decks I faced. Ended up finally losing to Beetroopers in topcut, after winning vs them 2 round earlier, but was fine with that since that was another deck I’d been piloting before, so was happy to see it perform.

Do you own real Yu-Gi-Oh cards? If yes, what does your collection/deck look like?

I own a good amount of cards irl, but no full archetypes and mostly random singletons (probably perfect for Trinity tbh lol)

What made you choose your deck? What are some plays your deck can make?

I picked Dragon Rulers because I wanted to play a deck that could push for game out of nowhere and have a while Extra deck of tool box monsters. The most constant line my deck has is send Absorouter Dragon to the gy, search Rokket Synchron, NS Rokket Synchron target Absorouter Dragon, and then make Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon Mill 5 with 5 different ways to start the line of play.

What were some tech choices you made? Would you make any changes to the list moving forward?

I decided to main deck Crimson Blader for the Ritual match up, side deck Artifact Lancea and the Bystial package for Chaos, and main deck Set Rotation for the backrow and Pend match up. I would cut the M I L Fairy part of the deck just so the core will be more consistent.

How did your deck handle the other pilots? Any notable moments?

My deck pilots very well vs most other decks, the only weakness the deck faces is when I'm not able to establish my GY with chaos ruler or brick on S/T when i need more dragons in rotation.

No real notable moments.

Do you own real Yu-Gi-Oh cards? If yes, what does your collection/deck look like?

Yes I do own real cards, most of my collection is from ABC format ~ Late TOSS format. The last "real" deck I played was Guardragon Pend Magicans with 3 Servant of Endymion and Agarpain, good times.

What is your favorite book?

My favorite book would be Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter because it was the last book I read in its entirety and enjoyed.

What made you choose your deck? What are some plays your deck can make?

I chose Jar because I was planning on playing Chaos in a locals and didn't feel confident about Tri-Harpies or Fish. The deck doesn't really have plays, it just sets a lot of Traps and then uses Jar to replenish them.

What were some tech choices you made? Would you make any changes to the list moving forward?

The deck did lose Runick Fountain, so I got rid of a lot of Runick cards and put in Labrynth stuff. It was really good, with Arianna getting me a lot of draws even without a Jar.

I wouldn't really change much in the deck, other than swapping Recall for another Trap.

How did your deck handle the other pilots? Any notable moments?

There were a lot of control decks, so it was a good environment for Jar. I did not deck out anyone, all my wins were from beating down with Charmers.

Not really any notable moments, other than me trying to deck out Kd and them shuffling back their stuff to stop me.

Do you own real Yu-Gi-Oh cards? If yes, what does your collection/deck look like?

I do own a lot of card, but only 2 playable decks, Pend Magicians and Dark World. I have been going back to locals recently and Dark World has been crushing it, so that's nice.

What is your favorite book?

I don't really have one, it's usually whatever I'm reading at the moment.
