What made you choose your deck for the tournament? What were your tech choices?

I wanted to get one last run with full power Punk Swordsoul since i spent time optimizing my list and for all the great things people said about Swordsoul, it didn't have a 1st place finish this season and I wanted to change that.

If you had it to do again, would you make any changes to your deck list?

I would move Longyuan to the side, and switch Draco Masters for Scarlight.

How did your tournament experience go? Any notable moments?

Overall I was a bit disappointed that Champs had a small player count, but that just meant each round would go by faster.

We're starting a new format next week with a large ban list and a ton of new cards. What decks do you think are the frontrunners for meta contention?

Swordsoul is still top tier even with the 1p tax, Punk is going to be ran in a lot of decks now with the lv5 allowing for lv8/lv11 synchro plays with ease, and Fariy/agent decks are going to be very popular with 3 diviner and the new suport from Ghosts From the Past 2.

What made you choose your deck for the tournament? What were your tech choices?

I had a decent run with rituals last YTC so decided to give it another go with a few tweaks. Didn’t tech in anything different from then, just cut down to 45 for consistency's sake.

If you had it to do again, would you make any changes to your deck list?

I’d maybe scrape the barrel for some more consistency boosting cards to replace some of my staples since I did end up bricking a few times throughout the tournament.

How did your tournament experience go? Any notable moments?

It went rather well in swiss, finished 3-1 and topped very comfortably, only losing r1 to Zoodiac, one of the worse matchups for the deck with their plethora of backrow and them being able to completely bypass the big def of Megaliths with Whiptail. In top cut I was faced with Zoodiac again but managed to make it through when Sparky failed to draw a Zoodiac card in g3, as well as me playing it safe by searching a Sauravis and just going for some ED beats instead of Megaliths. Aaaaand then I bricked twice in finals and lost in 10min – rituals moment. Maybe had a chance in g2 if I didn’t get greedy with my Ash Blossom and kept topdecking good cards but it was probably doomed anyway.

Honestly I have no idea. Some form of low-commitment-big-plus-able-to-fit backrow-and-handtraps-disruption-turbo-looking deck but there’s any number of those.

What made you choose your deck for the tournament? What were your tech choices?

I was debating between two decks for the tournament zoo and paleo. I'd actually tested zoo but felt that paleo was probably better, but then it hit me the worst deck I’d ever built - Frog Zoo. I felt it kinda just went under good stuff logic; the only problem is both decks are so engine intensive the part that It ended up being pretty unbalanced hands that would die to one interruption on bull. There weren’t many tech cards, but the trap holes performed very well and I got saved a lot by flip flop. Also, since people kinda need to put guys into attack to play around whiptail, I was able to resolve a couple of lightning storms on monsters.

If you had it to do again, would you make any changes to your deck list?

Not playing it.

How did your tournament experience go? Any notable moments?

I was like the lowest 1-2 and I was about to drop because I thought I had no chance at winning having a terrible score however, I was like eh, it's 1 round who cares and there ended up being enough byes for me to squeak into top 4. I was able to play some pretty back and forth matches with Temedun, but once he started getting his drytrons off the board and putting guys into attack mode to deal with whip I wasn’t really able to handle the recursion.

I think a lot of the slightly less powerful decks will be a lot more playable with hits to ss, brave, and nk. In particular I think Zombies are very strong, they got a lot from the last pack with the new recurring 6 that mills and the new synchro as well as having 3 of the strongest individual cards in the game in Jack, Fraulein, and Book of life. Also be on the lookout for some froggy bois.

What made you choose your deck for the tournament? What were your tech choices?

Same as usual, I did not have much time to think for champs, so I just went with my last deck with a few modifications. Deck Lockdown in main deck is a bad idea though, do not do that.

If you had it to do again, would you make any changes to your deck list?

Yes, swap deck lockdown for allure of darkness, since I can not think of anything besides more draws I would want

How did your tournament experience go? Any notable moments?

It was fine, I got completely destroyed by rituals, and my finals match was just a brickfest. The match against Cinos was really fun and close, I recommend that as a watch.

Uhhhhh, I am not very good at judging the meta, I think it will mostly be the same as it is now. To me none of the new cards or banlist changes seem like they would rocket any deck up super hard.
